The outcome led to: a contract from BP (contact: vincent.tam@uk.bp.com)to study the potential impact of a proposed design modification for offshore platforms on fire growth and smoke movement; two contracts from the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister (now the Department of Communities and Local Government DCLG, http://library.rbfrs.co.uk/Public_Circulars/ajm4p900.pdf) to contribute to a "Review of the Interaction between Operational Fire Procedures and Building Design" for the Building Disaster Assessment Group (BDAG), which was established to consider the issues that have been highlighted by the World Trade Centre incident of 11/09/01. All three contracts have been successfully completed using the model developed.
