This publication led to a collaboration with Tongji University (Shanghai, China) and the award of the EU FP7 IRSES “Geohazards and Geomechanics” (€439k) of which Dr Utili is the coordinator. This research which is currently underway, is employing the latest geomechanics findings to improve geohazard prevention (in particular for areas prone to landslides and earthquakes)
