The analytical model for the retrogression of natural slopes introduced in this paper, led to the award of a consultancy from Valseriana srl (contact lorenzo.scipione@mariposasrl.it, Pescara, Italy) for €30,000. Where the model was employed to predict the time of retreat of the slope of an abandoned quarry on top of which a residential building and parking lot were to be constructed. The authorities (Protezione civile) had halted construction works following the occurrence of some shallow landslides; this model allowed them to resume, and successfully complete, the work.
