The surface construction method proposed in this paper was adopted by Dr. Nasrul Humaimi Mahmood's team (Department of Biomedical Instrumentation and Signal Processing at the Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Email: nasrul@fke.utm.my) in their development of a 3D surface reconstruction method for orthotic and prosthetic design. This has led to a fast and low-cost prosthetic design method for lower limbs, and is currently providing a tool for a new study on the throwing mechanism of hands.
