The paper gives a credible technique for measuring power device temperatures in situ. This can then be used to estimate the wear-out of power device modules. Great interest from industry has been shown in this technique. We will be developing this as part of a collaborative TSB project (400261, £781k) with JLR, Prodrive (Pete Tibbles, ptibbles@prodrive.com), Ricardo (John Reeve, john.reeve@ricardo.com) and GE Aviation (Steve Riches, steve.riches@ge.com).
