Additional information
This publication is an output from the BAE Systems / EPSRC £6.2M FLAVIIR (www.flaviir.com) project for the development of next generation unmanned aerial vehicles. WMG was selected within FLAVIIR as the sole Academic Capability Partner delivering affordable tooling technologies for composites manufacture. This paper demonstrates, for the first time, the successful use of low-pressure Resin Transfer Moulding for the manufacture of high quality aerospace carbon fibre composites, demonstrating the potential cost-effective manufacture of a DEMON flying demonstrator.
