This work was the first demonstration of the controlled lattice-matching of GaInNSb to GaSb for the technological important wavelength range of 2 – 5µm. As a consequence, the work provided a method for growing strain-free GaInNSb for a wavelength specific device. The initial part of this research was funded under a contract with the Army Research Laboratory, U.S.A. (contact Stefan Svensson, MBE Grower, svensson@arl.army.mil). This work was also the subject of an invited talk given at the Materials Research Society meeting in Strasbourg (May 2012).
