Additional information

This output is significant in that it shows a common thread across BU research activities towards the emerging concept of ‘Green Tribology’. The work on recycled plastics forms the initial stages of a new research field and has been followed by three subsequent final year Mechnical Engineering research projects in collaboration with Oviedo University (Spain) into Polyurethane, High Impact Polystyrene and ABS recycled materials characterisation. This research has informed a match-funded PhD studentship ‘Cradle to Cradle: Recyclable Materials Applied to Small Marine Leisure Craft’ in collaboration with Longitude Consulting Engineers Ltd. (No. 06278389, Professor Bob Cripps, b.cripps@longitude.uk.com), awarded June 2013.
