Additional information

This paper develops a 3-D micromechanics-enhanced finite element formulation that accurately captures the mechanical behaviour of heterogeneous materials in a computationally efficient manner. This was the result of collaboration between Glasgow and the Czech Technical University (Jan Novak; novakj@cml.fsv.cvut.cz ) and supported the award of a recent multi-partner EPSRC project (Providing Confidence in Durable Composites, EP/K026925/1, £326k) for which Glasgow is leading the multi-scale modelling workpackage.
