The Barlow bastards: romance comes home from the empire

The core component of this output is Finn’s sole-authored chapter, ‘The Barlow Bastards: Romance Comes Home from the Empire’ (pp. 25-47), but this core component is further supplemented by the ‘Introduction: Spurious Issues’ (pp. 1-23) and ‘Afterward’ (pp. 173-174), the last two components equally co-authored by the volume’s co-editors (Finn, Lobban and Taylor). The volume was the product of an interdisciplinary, international conference organised by the co-editors and held at/funded by the Huntington Library in California. Finn’s sole-authored chapter draws upon original archival research; the introduction and conclusion situate the volume’s content within wider historical and interdisciplinary contexts.
