International collaboration between the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Sharif University of Technology, Tehran, Iran, the Mechanical Department, Shoushtar Branch, Islamic Azad University, Shoushtar, Iran, and Cranfield University. Under the scope of machine rotor dynamics and diagnosis this research led to development of a novel numerical method for predicting rotor response due to induced stator-rotor rubbing phenomena. This has the advantage of modelling the stator as a deformable body thereby enhancing model predictions. (Contact: Professor Behzad, Sharif University, m_behzad@sharif.edu)
