Design and fabrication of bimodal meso-mesoporous WO3 thin films and their electrochromic properties
The specific aspect of this for which it was selected here is the development of a process to differentially thermally sensitise a material, to enable the simultaneous development of functional porous structures with two discrete types of (meso) pores by a single stage heat treatment. The process was initially developed in DTI Project TP-CHBT-006-00015 as a potential industrial route for the fabrication of high surface area metallic tungsten electrodes for use in high efficiency micro fluorescent tubes used in display back lighting. However we recognised that it had potential wider application for example in enhancing response of electrochromic devices.
