This paper identifies the key challenges and issues which automotive suppliers face as they make the transition from component manufacturer to cockpit module suppliers. The significance of the work can best be considered as: (i) a number of findings were discussed under four thematic groupings which have increased and progressed the knowledge associated with automotive companies making this transition, which have either not being outlined in previous work or covered in such depth and (ii) the development of a migration matrix which provides a framework for the issues associated with supplier migration. The work was collaborative with a colleague from another University.
