Additional information

This paper presents comprehensive parametric computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analyses of an oscillating wing device operating in realistic turbulent flow conditions, and recent enhancements of the COSA CFD package of Campobasso. Such devices are being developed to extract energy from air/water streams. The work has received very positive feedback from experts in the field at the world-leading ASME TURBO Conference (San Antonio, June 2013). These developments in the application of the CFD code have led to a new collaboration with the University of New South Wales, Australia, where COSA is now being used for further research on oscillating wing devices.
