Additional information

This work extends the use of diffuse optical tomography to mapping 3D temperature and compositions of reactive gases in highly scattering media with sub-millimeter spatial resolution and compositions down to 1 mol. %. A rational design of chemical units such as heterogeneous catalytic reactors including requires knowledge of temperature and gas species distributions which nowadays are only accessible by computer fluid dynamics whereas little advances are achieved on the experimental procedures. It was developed by a multidisciplinary international collaboration between scientists and engineers from Switzerland, Japan and Portugal, was sponsored by DEL (Northern Ireland) and shortlisted for oral talks (http://conf.nsc.ru/files/conferences/CR-19-2010/27956/Time-table-final.pdf)
