Additional information
The stability conditions for previously developed “State-Dependent Riccati Equation” methods can be very difficult to fulfill in practical engineering applications. By contrast, this article introduces a method for state-dependent systems that, uniquely, does guarantee mathematical stability: the approach was quoted as “State of the Art” in a Backhoe Dredger Project developed by DEME International (van.wellen.erik@deme.be) offered funding by IWT (Belgium). The modelling tools in this article are being used by researchers at M3-BIORES Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (Jean-Marie.Aerts@biw.kuleuven.be).
