Additional information

This paper is the original presentation of the world's largest published database of sediment related sewer blockages, and also the most significant statistical analysis of such data. It provides new insight into the probability of sewer blockages and their variability and causes. It results from a major collaboration between Imperial College and University of Los Andes in Bogota. The PhD student, Rodriguez, supervised by McIntyre and Maksimovic, was appointed to a lectureship at Los Andes immediately after his PhD to continue this line of research.
