Additional information
This paper is a major output from an EPSRC grant (EP/EO20763/1). A class of systems involving both a mismatched time varying delayed nonlinear term and mismatched time varying delayed uncertainty is studied using sliding mode techniques. The approach shows how nonlinear bounds on mismatched uncertainties can be used in control design in the time delay area to guarantee low control effort using reduced order observers. The work led to an invitation to participate in the EU/ FONCICYT project entitled ‘Automation of energy production processes via sliding mode control and monitoring’.
