LXZ-2: This paper proposes a closed-form carrier frequency offset (CFO) tracking method, which is extremely robust against fast variations of CFOs of different users. It provides a feasible solution to a crucial problem in the IEEE 802.16e uplink, and inspired research at the National University of Defense Technology (huang.qinfei@nudt.edu.cn) to investigate CFO tracking in practical cooperative OFDM systems. It is the culmination of work undertaken through an EPSRC First Grant (EP/E023096, PI:Zhang, £219,468), and contributed to the award of an EPSRC Programme grant (EP/H040536, PI:Elmirghani, £5,997,917) with the University of Cambridge, and nine project partners (including BT, Oclaro, and Ericsson).
