Additional information

A classical analytical model is combined with a numerical solution to show the critical influence of micro-pores in bimodal porous materials, i.e. those containing macro- and micro-pores. Experimental validation shows the effect of sample size on elastic modulus and that pore shape is a determinant of surface effects. Collaboration with world-leading powder metallurgists at Central South University.
