Additional information

Paper presents accurate and computationally-efficient thermal-modelling technique using equivalent-circuit lumped-parameter method based on cuboidal element. Cuboidal-element approach allows for three-dimensional thermal analysis accounting for material thermal anisotropy and internal heat generation. Proposed technique does not require any initial assumptions regarding equivalent-circuit construction, i.e. heat-flow paths are derived from analysis rather than assumed. Technique has attracted attention from leading companies in thermal design of electrical machines, e.g. Motor Design Ltd. [contact: Director and Founder].
