<23> This paper describes an influential algorithm for locating points on faces, allowing fast and accurate face tracking. It is significant because it provided state of the art performance at the time. Some of the current best performing algorithms for facial feature location are direct descendents of the approach introduced in the paper. Lead to a world-wide patent, which was licensed to a spinoff company (Genemation Ltd).
