Edinburgh Companion to Scottish Women's Writing

This volume represents a reshaping of existing paradigms for the understanding of Scottish women's literary production. As argued in the editor’s Introduction, by focusing on genres and forms of writing rather than individual writers or periods, it challenges canons of Scottish writing and resituates writers within larger thematic engagements. The author's chapter on genre fiction (with its emphasis on critically neglected writers) extends this intervention.
