'Unduly Conscious of Her Sex: Priesthood, female bodies and sacred space in the Church of England,‘

This article draws on Henri Levebvre‘s notion of spaces of representation to show how the policing of women's bodies in sacred space reveals otherwise unarticulated ideologies undergirding opposition to women's ordination in the inter-war period. The article makes a contribution to our understanding of religious aspects of sexual discrimination in twentiethcentury Britain.
