Additional information

The new concept of 'load conversion expediency' reported in this paper, co-authored with an Iranian academic, has led to the development of an innovative integrated design method. This design method can be employed for structural optimization of interacting domains, such as trusses and frames supporting real-life non-uniform distributed loads, minimising the negative effect of interface supports on the load domain. As a result, Maheri A., the first author, has been invited to give a keynote entitled “Atypical design optimization of Structures: case studies" at the 2014 International Conference on High Performance and Optimum Design of Structures and Materials, Ostend, Belgium.
