Additional information

This research resulted in the development of a novel mobile laboratory for measuring mean earth thermal properties for ground source heat pump design. The laboratory has been hired by commercial organisations (e.g. Dunelm Geotechnical Ltd.) for evaluations in and around London as well as in the North East. The research prompted development of a new heat pump test facility at Northumbria which was used in collaboration with Community Energy Solutions in a research competition ('Advanced Heat Storage') funded by Government (DECC). The submission awarded the highest overall score in the competition and earned the partnership a further £25k development grant.
