This research is one of the first to identify the need to manage innovation adoption in construction projects in order to sustain it throughout the design development process. The research was supported by the Royal Society of Ulster Architects. The research resulted in publication of a chapter of a book (Brown et al., 2006 'Clients Driving Construction Innovation: Moving Ideas into Practice' Australia ISBN 1-7410712-8-3) and an invited presentation at the Innovation in The Built Environment Academy (IBEA http://www.ibea.eu/ Seminar 2 – 29th March 2012) at London South Bank University.
