Additional information

Reports a collaborative project (with Liverpool University and Thermacore Europe Ltd) to develop an aluminium/ammonia heat pipe with a sintered wick structure. Heat pipe technology provides significant opportunities for passive heat transfer solutions in buildings Resulting from this project, Agnew was invited by energy ‘giant’ ENI to register for its ‘New Frontiers of Hydrocarbons / Renewable Energy’ Award (2014) for ‘worldwide research of great significance’ and Ng has joined €6.1 million ‘NanoHex’ project (EU FP7 Grant Ref: 228882) as a researcher. The project (with 11 leading European companies and research centres) aims to develop heat management technology with nanofluids.
