Additional information

A collaboration between architect (Dalton), cognitive scientist (Hoelscher) and psychologists (Carlson and Shipley) to establish interdisciplinary research in wayfinding in complex buildings. Supported by ‘SpaceGuide Project’ (Trans-regional Collaborative Research Center) funded by Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft and National Science Foundation (SBE-0541957). This led to: a workshop and symposium, ‘Wayfinding in the Seattle Public Library’, at 52nd Annual Psychonomic Society meeting (November 3-6, 2011, Seattle); an invited keynote speech (Dalton and Hoelscher) on ‘Spatial Cognition’ (8th International Space Syntax Symposium, 3-6 January 2012, Chile); two invited talks (Dalton) at New York University (November 2011, November 2012;) and additional, follow-up, experiment-based research (Seattle, 2012).
