Additional information
The research investigated the effectiveness of an innovative technique for strengthening masonry arches and, in particular, the influence of the types of reinforcement (glass fibres and carbon plates), properties of the bonding system and masonry substrate and the presence of anchor spikes. Fifteen prototypes of brickwork arches strengthened in this way were tested and the results demonstrated significant advantages over traditional methods.
