The essays in this volume crossfertilize different theoretico-critical traditions to scrutinize Ramondino’s œuvre. The examination of themes dear to this writer (travel, identity, writing, intertextuality) and how they intersect with the reflection on life, illuminates for the first time the scope and originality of her aesthetic-political project.

<br/>My contribution (in addition to editing) reveals deep intertextual links between her play Terremoto con madre e figlia, Morante’s La serata a Colono and Sophocles’ Oedipus at Colonus, highlighting how Ramondino, like Morante in 1969, uses Sophocles to denounce the loss of moral principles and the end of political commitment in the 1980s.
