Additional information

The research contributes to knowledge of the nature of online interaction and is therefore of value in expanding understanding in the generic field of online learning. However, because online interprofessional education (IPE) is relatively rare, the article develops a new strand of IPE education which is relevant internationally. Large scale IPE is not feasible other than in an online context and this research demonstrates some of the issues that online interaction raises. It also adds to the body of knowledge about the development of critical thinking skills and the tendency towards conformity.
