Additional information

Collaboration with CERN on the 3.5M EU project ACEOLE to develop a Passive-Optical-Network based Time-Trigger and Control (TTC) system for the upgraded High-Luminosity Large-Hadron-Collider (LHC). TTC is a critical part of CERN’s infrastructure and our work will enable two orders of magnitude of more data to be communicated between the LHC and the control room. Technology presented at both major CERN experiments (ATLAS and CMS) and has been shortlisted by CERN for the future LHC. Further, investment from CERN of >200,000CHF for a prototype to be tested on-site in the CMS’s counting room during first LHC shutdown in 2014-2015 (contact:sophie.baron@cern.ch).
