Additional information

The anthology European Cinema in Motion, co-edited by Daniela Berghahn and Claudia Sternberg, is the chief output of a two-year AHRC-funded Research Network (see: www.migrantcinema.net) for which Berghahn was Principal Investigator. Together with Sternberg, she conceived the book’s theoretical framework, commissioned and edited the chapters and co-authored the Introduction (pp. 1-11) and Chapter One (pp. 12-49), both of which theorise diasporic cinema in relation to the burgeoning field of transnational film studies. In ‘Coming of age in “the hood”’ (pp. 235-55), Berghahn examines how the diasporic youth film has reshaped the generic conventions of the teenpic and youth film.
