Empowering Educational Practice through Service-Learning in the UK: Case Studies from Leeds Metropolitan University, UK
Murphy and Tan co-wrote the introduction, chapter and conclusion and co-edited the complete book. Both Murphy and Tan sourced the international contributors following their co-presented paper for the 2nd International Conference on Service Learning in Teacher Education. Whilst complimentary, distinctive difference is found in their individual emphasis and application. Murphy’s focus in the cited chapter examines the use of experiential learning in support of teaching and learning at university level. Tan’s work foregrounds concepts of ‘service’ and dialogic learning as utilised in the Continuing Professional Development of in-service school teachers. Therefore there is distinctiveness to their collaborative work.
