Additional information

<19> This paper proposes the use of context-based authentication to detect the counterfeiting and illegal transport of goods such as wine, handbags, jewellery. It describes new techniques that integrate time and geo-location information with cryptographic mechanisms for the authentication of assets. The techniques were combined with environmental sensors and used in a system for authenticating works of art in the CUSPIS EU project which continues to be used commercially in Italy. The work led to a paper in Personal and Ubiquitous Computing 14(4): 321-334 (2010)
