Additional information

<26>IEEE TMI is one of the top journals in the field of medical image computing. This paper covered a major part of my research during my PhD. I was the first to perform statistical shape analysis of the levator ani and combine that with bio-mechanical simulations. Analysis of the strain distributions on the muscle corresponded to clinical findings. This has potential significance in the identification of levator ani structure that will result in weakness and prolapse. We are now collaborating with clinicians (Sir Magdi Yacoub m.yacoub@imperial.ac.uk) on applying the analysis to the the heart and specifically the aortic sinuses.
