Additional information

Funded as part of EPSRC Supergen Marine, this research presents a comparative study of the lifetime economics of marine energy conversion systems assistive to investment decisions. Its novelty lies in it being the first study to employ a methodology that accounts for both a range of wave energy conversion concepts and the wave energy resource available at a wide range of UK and US sites. Significance lies in its potential application to future multi-megawatt installations such as Pelamis in Portugal. It has provided input to MARCAL models and has been taken up by other researchers including Strathclyde and UCL.
