Morris made a substantial contribution to the conception and design of the study (he was approached by West Midlands Strategic Health Authority to create a collaborative partnership to submit a proposal based on the National Dementia Strategy. He was also the lead bid-writer, chief communicator with the SHA and submitted the proposal). Professor Morris made a substantial contribution to the organisation of the conduct of the study (he instigated bringing together dementia care professionals to participate in the project and initiated the formation of a Steering Group) and to carrying out the study (as a member of the Steering Group). Professor Morris also helped draft the output (as a key consultant during the preparation of the final report).
