Additional information

Architectures of the Near Future questions whether we are on the verge of a new spirit in architecture and design, where the uncritical belief in consumerism and unbridled growth, has to be questioned, or at the very least an acceptance of a very different kind of world has to be acknowledged. Inspired by the work of J G Ballard, whose writing for over forty years encompassed topics as diverse as ecological crisis to technological fetishism and augmentation, and from urban ruination to suburban mob culture, topics he pursued with a wit and inventiveness that has no equivalent in architectural discourse.
