Additional information

<23>Much work on 3D face processing has assumed frontal poses with few missing parts and little spurious data. While this is valid for face verification applications, it is not for the identification of non-cooperating subjects. This paper introduces new shape representations and mechanisms of shape extraction that can deal with such conditions. It is the first to employ fast radial basis function (RBF) fitting to extract novel features in a 3D face biometric security setting.
