Additional information

<28>Using an agent-based model, this paper brought new understanding in tissue engineering, showing how laboratory growth conditions for skin tissue can be optimised without the need for bovine serums and the associated CJD risks they incur. The agent-based model (developed by McMinn) makes it possible to try out several thousand experiments in a virtual environment. The most interesting results were then replicated in the laboratory. This work [GoogleScholar:18] led to an interdisciplinary EPSRC grant on software testing for agent-based models (Automated Discovery of Emergent Misbehaviour) - McMinn PI. . PLoS One has IF 3.370 and is ranked 7/56 in Multidisciplinary Sciences.
