Estimation of the reconstruction parameters for atom probe tomography
Generating the tomographic reconstruction is a critical step in every atom probe analysis. This study presented a new self-consistent method for the systematic determination of the main parameters needed to build the reconstruction. The results achieved using this approach demonstrate significant improvement in the accuracy of the three-dimensional atomistic images. This is critical for a variety of measurements to which APT brings unique insight including characterisation of interfaces and the size and distribution of nanoscale solute clusters. These methods have become a standard for APT community. Since 2008, it is the fourth most highly-cited APT article.
