Colloidal synthesis of lead oxide nanocrystals for photovoltaics.
Semiconductor nanocrystals are very widely studied to improve the performance of large area photovoltaics and are especially valuable if they can be prepared by high efficiency low temperature solution deposition techniques. Crucial to this is the facile synthesis of suitable nanocrystals by a scaleable method, as demonstrated here with a one-pot synthesis. The second challenge, of being able to make high quality thin films from the product is also reported here, along with materials characterisation and PV devices. IP in PbO solar cells is protected by Oxford patents WO2011086355 A2, CN102834925A, EP2523741A2, US20130042910, WO2011086355A3
