Additional information

The work presented in this paper investigates the effect of chordwise flexibility on the aeroelastic stability of deformable aerofoils, deriving analytical expressions that demonstrate previously unreported flutter mechanisms. The theory presented has been used, for instance, for research on morphing wings at Swansea University and membrane wings at Imperial College London. The paper has been the “Hottest Article” of the Journal of Fluids and Structures (January-March 2012) and a top download from Imperial College London repository throughout 2012 and 2013.
