Additional information

David Carter is the sole editor of this volume, having co-ordinated the development, editing, and delivery of the book. Carter co-wrote the introduction with Mark Griffith (Carter wrote 9 pages of it and Griffith 6 pages). He is the sole author of chapter 2, 'Plato, drama, and rhetoric', pp. 45-67. The volume looks anew at the vexed question of tragic politics and moves the debate along in various ways, which are identified by Carter in the introduction as well as in six invited 'response' essays by leading scholars in the field.
