Additional information

The paper proposes a new, mathematically provable algorithm capable of dramatically reducing stored data whilst maximising the preserved information content. The research underpinned the award of two industrial projects on nuclear forensics and data analytics by AWE plc (one consultancy project and one PhD studentship, contact: Dr Phillip Turner, phillip.turner@offsite.awe.co.uk). It also formed the basis for another paper in IEEE TNNLS on work for big data.
