Ian Rutherford is the co-editor, with Richard Hunter, of the volume. He and Hunter co-ordinated the development, editing, and delivery of the book. Rutherford co-wrote the introduction with Hunter. He is the sole author of chapter 11, Aristadama and the Aetolians. A Wandering Poetess and her Agenda, pp. 237-248. The volume examines the movement of poets in ancient Greece, covering the period from Bronze Age (late 2nd millennium till the Roman period. Among other issues the volume examines are the engagement of poets with specific localities and the emergence of notions of common religious identity, such as panhellenism.
