Additional information

This was the first music transcription system to model the temporal evolution of individual harmonics, taking overlapping harmonics from simultaneous notes into account. Consequently, it outperformed all other published approaches on three publicly available test data sets. This research has led to significant industrial interest, including a contract with Swedish music software company DoReMIR who have licensed our transcription technology for their ScoreCleaner music notation software (http://scorecleaner.com/, contact: Prof. Sven Ahlback, sven.ahlback@doremir.com). Other possible applications include music education and training, automatic search and annotation, interactive music systems (computer participation in live performances), and musicological analysis.
