Additional information
Hobbs was the main supervisor of the first author on the paper (ul-Haq). The main element of the paper was a 'Snomipede' and the paper considers two possible embodiments although most of the paper is on 'snomipede 1'. This instrument was designed by Hobbs and ul-Haq and Hobbs supervised all the data obtained with it. Leggett (Chemistry) was PI on the Snomipede basic technology grant and conceived the snomipede concept, bringing together the necessary elements (e.g. surface chemistry and cantilevers) beyond the instrument itself. Hence he is corresponding author.
